# Capture Leads

How to capture leads from a Supademo demo — forms, email gates, trackable links, Route Hub intake, and AI agent capture, synced to your CRM and analytics.

Supademo captures leads directly inside your interactive demos: viewers enter their details in a native form or email gate while they explore your product, and every response is saved to your Supademo analytics, emailed to your team, and synced to your CRM. Demos become a lead source, not just a viewing experience — on your website, in outbound links, and in your resource center.

There are five ways to capture a lead with Supademo:

| Method | What the viewer sees | Best for |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Form chapter](https://docs.supademo.com/customize/chapters/forms-and-lead-capture) | A form step inside the demo (up to 7 fields) | Marketing sites, gated content, MQL capture |
| Email gate | An email prompt before or during the demo | Lightweight qualification with less friction |
| [AI demo agent](https://docs.supademo.com/ai-features) | A conversation that asks qualifying questions | 24/7 inbound qualification and routing |
| [Trackable / personalized link](https://docs.supademo.com/share/share-link/trackable-share-links) | Nothing — the link itself identifies them | Outbound and 1:1 sends where you already know the viewer |
| [Route Hub intake form](https://docs.supademo.com/share/route-hub) | A short intake form before routed content | One link serving many audiences, with intent captured |

## How do I add a lead capture form to a demo?

1. Open your demo in the editor and add a **Chapter** at the point where you want to capture the lead.
2. Choose the **Form** option for the chapter.
3. Add up to 7 fields — text, dropdown, or number — and mark each as required or optional.
4. Optionally restrict submissions to business email addresses, require valid phone numbers, or allow viewers to skip the form.
5. Click **Save**. The form is live everywhere the demo is shared or embedded.

The full field reference, access controls (domain allow/block lists, email verification), and setup walkthrough live in [Forms & Lead Capture](https://docs.supademo.com/customize/chapters/forms-and-lead-capture).

{% hint style="info" %}
Placement matters: a form on the first step maximizes capture volume but increases drop-off; a form placed after a few value-showing steps captures fewer, warmer leads. Test both against your [session analytics](/analyze/session-metrics.md).
{% endhint %}

## Capture leads with trackable links and URL parameters

Not every lead needs to fill out a form — when you already know who you're sending a demo to, the link itself can carry their identity. Create a [trackable share link](https://docs.supademo.com/share/share-link/trackable-share-links) and append the recipient's email as a URL parameter (for example `?v_email=` followed by their address), and every step they view is tracked against that person: their session appears under their name in [lead analytics](https://docs.supademo.com/analyze/track-analytics-by-lead-or-account), and their activity syncs to your CRM exactly like a form submission.

This is the zero-friction option for outbound and sales follow-ups: the prospect clicks and watches, nothing interrupts them, and you still get a fully attributed lead. Pair it with [dynamic variables](https://docs.supademo.com/customize/personalize/variables-and-tokens) and the same URL parameters also personalize the demo itself — their name and company in the titles and hotspots.

## Capture leads through a Route Hub

A [Route Hub](https://docs.supademo.com/share/route-hub) captures leads at the front door: visitors answer a short intake form ("What brings you here?"), and their answers do double duty — routing them to the demos, videos, and documents that fit them, and capturing who they are along the way. Each journey is tracked per session with lead intent, so you see not just who came, but what they were looking for and which route they took.

Use a Route Hub when one link has to serve several audiences — a buyer, an admin, and a developer landing on the same URL each declare themselves, get a tailored path, and enter your pipeline segmented from the first click. It pairs well with a [Showcase](https://docs.supademo.com/share/multi-demo-sharing/showcase-collection) as the routed destination; see [sharing multiple demos](https://docs.supademo.com/hubs) for how the formats fit together.

## Where do captured leads go?

Every submission lands in four places automatically:

1. **Lead Data analytics** — each lead appears in [Track analytics by lead or account](https://docs.supademo.com/analyze/track-analytics-by-lead-or-account) with their full session: which steps they viewed, how far they got, and what they clicked. Export leads to CSV anytime.
2. **Email notifications** — responses are sent to your team by email, and [engaged viewer notifications](/analyze/session-metrics.md) can alert you when a captured lead returns.
3. **Your CRM** — with a [HubSpot](https://docs.supademo.com/workspace-settings/integrations/hubspot), [Salesforce](https://docs.supademo.com/workspace-settings/integrations/salesforce), Marketo, Zoho, or Pipedrive integration connected, form responses sync automatically. Supademo's AI field mapping matches your form fields to CRM properties (a field named "Company", "Corporation", or "Business Name" all sync to the right CRM field), and you can define manual field-level mappings down to the API name.
4. **Your automation stack** — use [Zapier](/workspace-settings/integrations/zapier.md) or [webhooks](https://docs.supademo.com/workspace-settings/integrations/webhooks) to route new leads anywhere else.

## How do sales and marketing teams use demo lead capture?

**Marketing qualification (MQL routing).** Embed a demo with a form chapter on your website, sync responses to your CRM, and route by the fields you collect (company size, role, use case). Source attribution in analytics tells you which campaign produced each lead.

**Sales handoff.** Send a [personalized demo link](/customize/personalize/variables-and-tokens.md) in outbound. When the prospect opens it, their viewing session is tracked by lead — your rep sees exactly which features they explored before the first call.

**Warm handoff from an AI agent.** An AI demo agent captures and verifies the viewer's email during the conversation, asks your qualification questions, and hands off to sales with a shareable conversation summary.

## Choosing the right lead-capture method

* Use a **required form** when lead quality gates everything downstream (demand-gen landing pages).
* Use a **skippable form or email gate** when completion rate matters more than capture rate (product education, docs embeds).
* Use **business-email-only plus verification** when your team wastes time on personal-email leads.
* Use an **SSO gate or password** instead of a form when the goal is access control, not lead generation — see [share permissions](https://docs.supademo.com/share/share-link/share-permissions).
* Use an **AI demo agent** when you want qualification questions answered conversationally around the clock.
* Use a **trackable / personalized link** when you already know the recipient — outbound, follow-ups, and 1:1 shares — and want attribution with zero viewer friction.
* Use a **Route Hub intake form** when one link serves multiple audiences and you want each visitor's segment and intent captured as they self-select.

## FAQ

### How do I capture leads from an interactive product demo?

Add a form chapter or email gate to your Supademo demo. Viewers submit their details inside the demo, and responses are saved to your Supademo analytics, emailed to you, and synced to your CRM automatically.

### Can I require business email addresses only?

Yes. Turn on the business-emails-only toggle in the form settings, and optionally add domain allow/block lists and external email verification to filter out personal or invalid addresses.

### Do demo form responses sync to HubSpot or Salesforce?

Yes. With the integration connected, responses sync automatically, and AI field mapping matches your form fields to CRM properties without manual setup. Manual field-level mapping is also available.

### Can I capture leads without showing a form?

Yes. Send a trackable link with the viewer's email in the URL parameters and their entire viewing session is attributed to them — tracked in lead analytics and synced to your CRM — without any form in the demo. A Route Hub's intake form is the middle ground: one short question set that both routes the visitor and captures who they are.

### Which plan includes lead capture?

Custom forms, email gates, and lead tracking are available on Scale plans and above. See the [pricing page](https://supademo.com/pricing) for the full comparison.
