# Instant AI Voiceover

Supademo AI voiceovers generate lifelike narration from your demo text in seconds, with 148 voices by region and locale, expressive mode, and speed controls.

AI voiceovers generate lifelike narration from text in seconds, using leading AI voice models that span multiple tones, accents, and languages. Supademo leverages models from [OpenAI](https://openai.com/?ref=supademo) and [ElevenLabs](https://elevenlabs.io/?ref=supademo), and your voice options are automatically matched to the language detected in your Supademo's text. This is one of four narration methods in [Voiceovers](https://docs.supademo.com/customize/voiceovers).

## Add AI Narration to Your Demo

You can add a realistic AI voiceover to a demo in under 10 seconds:

1. Open the **Voiceover** menu in the editor.
2. Open the **voice dropdown** to browse the AI voices, grouped by region and locale. Featured voices appear first, and your last-used voice is remembered.
3. Pick a voice — each voice has a preview you can play before selecting.
4. Click **Sync all** to turn your hotspot text into narration automatically, or type custom narration per step.
5. Click **Sync voiceovers** to apply narration across every step.
6. Click **Save** to lock in your voiceover changes.

### The Voice Catalog

The catalog holds **148 voices**, organized by region and locale so you can find the accent you want without scrolling the whole list. Featured voices sit at the top of the dropdown, and your last-used voice is remembered between sessions, so a series of demos keeps a consistent sound. Voices you have cloned appear first — see [Instant AI Voice Clone](https://docs.supademo.com/customize/voiceovers/instant-ai-voice-clone).

## Add or Customize a Voiceover for a Specific Step

Add a voiceover to specific slides only by clicking **Add Voiceover** or **Edit Voiceover** on that slide. The narrated text can differ from your text annotations: click the edit button below the Play button and replace the text with your desired script. This keeps annotations short while narration carries the context, or narrates in another language.

## Voiceover Languages

Once your input text language is detected, the AI voiceover narrates in that language. To change the narration language for a step, hover over the **Play button** of that slide, click the edit button, and write the voiceover text in your target language (e.g. Korean, French). The available voice options update automatically based on the detected language. To offer viewers multiple languages with matching text and voiceovers, use the [AI Translations Hub](https://docs.supademo.com/customize/personalize/ai-translations-hub).

## Speed, Stability, and Expressive Mode

Voice settings shape *how* a voice delivers your script:

1. Open **Voice settings** in the Voiceover panel.
2. Adjust **speed** to control narration pacing.
3. Adjust **stability** to control how consistent the delivery stays from line to line.
4. Turn on **Expressive mode** so the voice acts out tone and emphasis — emotions, whispers, and natural delivery shifts.
5. Click **Done** to save your speed and stability settings.

> 💡 **Tip:** Expressive mode reads your punctuation as cues — periods, exclamation marks, and spacing all shift the delivery. Tweak your script to dial in the right tone.

Because expressive delivery follows the writing, your script is the directing tool: short sentences read as punchy, and an exclamation mark genuinely lands as excitement.

## FAQ

### How do I add or edit a voiceover for a specific slide?

> You can add or edit a voiceover for a single slide by:
>
> 1. Opening the slide with the voiceover in edit view;
> 2. Clicking "Add voiceover" or "Edit voiceover"
> 3. Add in your voiceover text and click "Save"
>
> This way, you can have the narrated text be different from the text hotspots.

### The pitch and tone of my voiceover is different across slides. Is there a way to fix this?

> The model can change tone based on how the voiceover text is written. Narration can differ greatly based on the use of periods, exclamation marks, or spacing between words — especially with expressive mode on, which treats punctuation as delivery cues. We recommend adjusting the voiceover text, and the **stability** control in Voice settings, to resolve inconsistencies between slides.

### Is there a way to remove the AI voiceover that says "now, continue through the next step" on video steps?

> When you apply a voiceover to all slides, Supademo automatically adds in example voiceover text for video slides. To remove this, simply navigate to the video slide, click the edit button on the top right, and click "Delete voiceover".
